Elopements and smaller ceremonies
Recently the demand for elopements has increased as couples have had to rethink their wedding plans due to the current climate we are living in.
The beauty in an increase in elopements has been the opportunity for me as a celebrant to gain experience in smaller ceremonies.
I didn’t realise just how beautiful elopements could be. An elopement is the perfect way to create an intimate setting for couples to get married.
You can choose to invite a small group of friends and family, just close family, or you can keep it really small and just invite your witnesses.
Elopements give you the opportunity to get married and make your commitment to one another with the sole focus on the ceremony itself.
It allows couples to drop into the moment more wholly and intentionally, and that’s what I love most, facilitating that.
Elopement Options:
1. Choose a location and have me join you there
2. Elope on our Farm - a magical location just an hour from Coffs Harbour (pictured), use me as your celebrant but arrange all your own suppliers OR
3. Just show up and let me take care of everything (makeup artist, photographer, florist, cake and MORE!)
Ed and Alice (Sydney based couple) were due to get married in the UK in July. To acknowledge the date, they booked a weekend away in Byron that weekend of the planned wedding. And they stopped at our beautiful property on the way up and ‘made it legal’.
I took care of all the planning, all they had to do was show up and look good. I even helped with that and arranged a local makeup artist for Alice to help her feel special.
Testimonial from Alice
My husband (!) and I were due to get married in the UK this month. For obvious reasons we couldn't, so called upon the wonderful Sheree to marry us.
It was a small affair with none of our family present. Sheree explained everything so clearly in the rehearsal which helped calm our pre wedding jitters. The ceremony itself was personal and told our story so well.
From our initial zoom meeting with Sheree to the wedding Sheree communicated so well and made sure we felt comfortable and relaxed on the day. Even though it wasn't the wedding we had planned it was the most special ceremony.
I would recommend Sheree to anyone who wanted to follow in a similar elopement style wedding, she made our day so so special and we will be forever grateful to her for helping us make it happen!
